Identification Guide - What will make up 100 points of identification?

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

Primary Documents

Your initial document from this group will be awarded 70 points. Only one secondary ID document will attract 40 points, subsequent secondary ID will attract 25 points per item

  • Australian birth certificate(not an extract) or birth card
  • Australian citizenship certificate
  • Australian Passport (current or expired within the last two years)
  • International Passport (current)
  • Other document of identity having the same characteristics as a passport (e.g. this may include some diplomatic documents and some documents issued to refugees). 

Note: Do not score additional points for more than one document in this category.

    Secondary Documents

    • Australian driver licence or learners permit (current)
    • Australian photo firearms licence
    • State or federal government employee identity
    • Centerlink or social security card (current)
    • Department of veterans affairs card
    • Tertiary education institution photo identity
    • A licence or permit issued under law of the Commonwealth, a State or Territory 
    • An identification card issued to a public employee
    • An identification card issued by the Commonwealth, State or Territory as evidence of the person’s entitlement to financial benefit
    • An identification card issued to a student at a tertiary education institution 
    • Australian driver licence or learners permit (current)
    • Australian photo firearms licence
    • State or federal government employee photo identity
    • Centerlink or social security card (current)
    • Department of veterans affairs card
    • Tertiary education institution photo identity
    • Proof of age card
    • Medicare card
    • Property lease / rental agreement
    • Council rate notice
    • Property insurance papers
    • A utility bill
    • Motor vehicle registration / insurance
    • Professional or trade association card
    • A financial institution debit / credit card
    • A financial institution passbook / statement

    • Note: Only one card from each institution may be counted.  Only where they contain a photograph or signature that can be matched.

    Only 1 secondary ID document will attract 40 points, subsequent secondary ID will attract 25 points per item. Secondary ID with a photo will be accepted as primary ID but only attract the points listed in this table.

    • Utilities bill (power / phone / mobile / water / gas) 25
    • Motor vehicle Registration or Insurance 25
    • Professional or Trade association Card 25
    • Debit or Credit card's (bankcard, ATM card, visa card, mastercard, etc) 25
    • Passbook or Statement from Financial Institution 25
